It’s not a “check engine” line, it’s a “engine: check” light. How else will you know if the engine’s still there?

I mean, it IS a Volkswagen...

It’s been on since the day after I passed E-check for the first and only time.
Because VW!

Low miles! Hows the rust on this one?
Manual or auto?

I think you mean the "Oppo Light"™

The odometer pic is on my daily, a 96 Golf GL. The Jetta I picked up is a 95, odometer reads 89k. The interior is missing a few bits but the wear on seats etc convinces me that that’s real mileage. Despite being an Ohio car, t he rust is minimal. I’ll post more when I start to tear into it, but it’s a pretty clean chassis.

Ooh, then I’m oppo too since the CEL is currently shining bright in my truck.

Yes, it says when to check Oppo. So, a good excuse to take an unsanctioned break if your truck is compelling you.

And manual of course!

Unfortunately the light is on because the catalyst took an unsactioned break. Oh well, I’m at 10 years 150k miles, this is the shit that starts happening.
